The W. K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Library

A valuable resource for information on the horses, breeders, and lore associated with our CMK Heritage can be found in the W. K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Library with its extensive collection of books, magazines, films, and rare documents.

The library is currently housed in the Old Kellogg Stables on the Cal Poly~Pomona campus and occupies *Raseyn's old stall and the two adjacent stalls, which at one time were Antez's (and later Farana's) and Ralet's.

This is a temporary situation and some records are still in storage, so if you are planning a visit, it is best to call or write ahead.

News from Melissa:

Ceremonial Groundbreaking for the WKKAHL
Monday, April 23, 2007

You are cordially invited to join President Michael Ortiz and representatives from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation at a ceremonial groundbreaking for the W. K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Library. The library will be located adjacent to the W. K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center on the Cal Poly Pomona campus.

We are pleased to announce that the W. K. Kellogg Foundation has provided the lead gift for construction of the Arabian Horse Library. In honor of its gift and presence on campus, we will have a celebration on Monday, April 23, 2007 at 9:00 a.m.

Recognizing the past, present and future of the Arabian breed, the library will become an important focus of Arabian horse culture both to owners and admirers alike. The Center will be viewed as a premier location for special events, demonstrations, meetings, and both casual and formal social functions. The Arabian Horse Library will present to the public a unique equestrian experience in an environment as elegant and spirited as the Arabian horse itself.

The groundbreaking will be held in front of the W. K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center. Light refreshments will be provided. You may obtain a parking pass as the visitors booth and park in section "F" directly across from the Horse Center. Please RSVP to Michelle Moyer at (909)869-2728 or mlmoyer@csupomona.edu by Thursday, April 19th.

Thank you and we hope to see you on April 23rd.
