Opening
Soon! We are excited about this recent news from Melissa Paul,
Curator of the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Library ~
"Yes, finally! Last week the temporary wall was taken down between my
office (*Raseyn's old stall) and the two adjacent stalls (Antez's (and
later Farana's) stall and Ralet's stall). So, now the Library has three
stalls in the Old Stables and sufficient space to put up some shelves and
actually reopen SOON!
Yesterday the wooden shelves (for those of you who remember them) were
moved in, and I'm waiting for them to be earthquake-braced before I put
any books on them. Today I was dusting and polishing those shelves. My
there are more of them than I thought. Needless to say I am pretty
grimy, pooped, and ache all over.
In any case I am aiming at having the Library open, at least in some small
way, by the Arabian Horse Association meeting on September 27. This means
a lot of work needs to be done between then and now. I need
help--unpacking, lifting, shelving, moving furniture and equipment,
running errands, hanging pictures, decorating, etc. If you have any time
available this week and next (or would like to consider being a volunteer
in the future), please email me privately and I will let you know the
details." (09/17/03)
