From our Arieana Notebook: Zarouf was sold as a yearling to his last owner of record Ellis Y. Peay of Orem, Utah. The caption from the photo above, taken when Zarouf was six years old, mentions that Zarouf was in training for three-gaited and fine harness classes. The caption also mentions he was shown once and placed third; we do not know the rest of his show record.

Of special note within the context of CMK Preservation Breeding is that Zarouf carried the now-declining Dwarka sireline through Dwarka's imported son *Aldebar (Aldebaran in England), and we at Arieana Arabians feel it a real loss that Zarouf's only son did not breed on with a son of his own to carry forward this branch of such a valuable tail male line  ~ a sireline which history has proven to be such a strong and lasting influence for producing Winners on the Endurance circuit.

On the distaff side of Zarouf's pedigree we highly regard his dam Wadi-Sirhan's influence as she brings us yet another branch source of athletic ability, strength, and heart for performance through her sire, the incomparable Maynesboro-bred stallion Rahas. Wadi-Sirhan is one of the five Rahas descends upon whom we have proudly linebred our foals.
