From
our Arieana Notebook: Tahas was highly
regarded for his strength, athleticism, and beautiful movement, traits which he consistently passed on to his
foals. At Arieana Arabians, Tahas is significant to us in our
pedigrees for carrying forward one branch of the Rahas
sire line through his son Haat
Shaat, a stallion widely renown for his winnings ways in Park Horse
classes and who appears twice in the pedigree of our own rising star and
future herd sire Goldfire
AA (Blitzen of Pico x Gleeful
Pico). Through another son Galahas we find the Tahas cross three times
in the pedigree of the Sport Horse and Liberty Champion Ibn Aulrab (Aulrab
x Haapey Pico). And we delight when we see
this
lovely prize-winning action, and we take great pride in the
promise that this traditional Mesaoud
sire line elegance with superb motion will continue on into the future
generations as these two young stallions take their rightful places in
the sun with foals of their own.

From
our Arieana Notebook: Tamma is long-remembered by those who knew her
at Margaret Gray Gizzi's GZ Ranch in Ojai, California as a very sweet and
very beautiful mare and one who actually chose Margaret. The story as told to
us by Becky Nardi from her family's memory album relates that Margaret
Gray Gizzi ("Margie") was horse shopping one day at Kellogg's, and
as Margie passed by Tamma's corral, Tamma came running to
the fence and put her head on Margie's shoulder. That was it! Home she
went with Margie to spend the rest of her days at the GZ Ranch. At first
quite thin, skittish, and fearful of men, under Margie's kind and
thoughtful care and guidance
and with their bonding complete right from the very beginning,
Tamma regained her health and vigor and learned to trust again.
"It is amazing that Tamma even lived let alone bring forth such an amazing horse as
Tahas. It makes my head spin to think that if things had been different that line
[Haat Shaat] would never have come to be!" (Personal communications from
Becky
Nardi. January 9-20, 2006.)
