From our Arieana Notebook: *Rokhsa, strongly linebred to Mesaoud, was imported to the United States as one of a group of 17 purebred Arabians ~ this group from Crabbet noted as one of the most important importations ever brought to the United States. *Rokhsa was well trained to ride and moved very well; she represented Maynesboro in at least one horse show. On May 16, 1927, she was sold to Allan K. Foster of Quebec, Canada and by 1934 appears in the Arabian Horse Club of America's stud book supplement as owned by Miss Eleanor M. Miner, Granby, Quebec, Canada. Her date of death is unknown.

As a broodmare for the Maynesboro Stud of W.R. Brown, *Rokhsa's crowning achievement was the production of Rabiyat, her last registered foal. With no photos available to us at this time for a separate listing of their own, we feel compelled to also include on this page two more of *Rokhsa's wonderful foals who also contributed their share of influence for the magnificent action we see in Arieana's Arabian foundation bloodstock ~

The first one is Raaf, *Rokhsa's beautiful bay daughter foaled in 1925. Noted as an exceptionally good mover, Raaf was sold during the Maynesboro dispersal to William R. Hearst for whom Raaf had three foals including the lovely Ribagh, dam of Mounri. Raaf's final owner was Robert L. Wing also of California. Raaf was Double Registered with the Thoroughbred Jockey Club as No. 114300 in their American Stud Book. Markings were noted by W.R. Brown as: two white ankles behind, off front leg white to ankle, nigh coronet white running up to ankle in front, big star in forehead, little snip in forehead and snip on nose. Rokhsa's other foal for which we have no photograph is Raja-Al-Mustakbal, a bay stallion foaled in 1923, who sired his one and only registered purebred Arabian foal, the filly Nabih out of Nusara before his sale by Maynesboro to the United States Army Remount.
