From our Arieana Notebook: Rayik was praised, pictured, and noted by Gladys Brown Edwards as one of the Kellogg "action" mares bred at Maynesboro. Rayik was purchased from Maynesboro in 1932 by W. R. Kellogg who in his turn sold her in 1933 to William R. Hearst of San Simeon, California where she served the Hearst Ranch for seven years as a broodmare. Her ownership then transferred to Robert L. Wing in 1940 and then to George and Marietta Whitcomb in 1945. Rayik died August 30, 1954 at age 28, in the ownership of the Whitcombs. Rayik was renown and highly regarded throughout her life as the dam of quality foals with an exceptionally good natural action at the trot, a trait which has perpetuated itself on into the succeeding generations that you still see today at Arieana Arabians.

From our Arieana Notebook: Roshana was purchased from the Maynesboro Dispersal in 1935 by W. R. Kellogg for his ranch in Pomona, California; she was 15 years old at time of purchase. Roshana was regularly exhibited in harness in the Kellogg Sunday Shows, and gave birth to her last foal in 1939 at age 19. No death date is listed for her.
