From our Arieana Notebook: Lady Anne Lytton was noted as remembering Rasim with these words: "Rasim I admired almost more than all the other horses, even compared to Skowronek whom he often beat in shows. He was a true saddle horse and carried my father (photo above) who had him as a charger in the army for the first World War, but only for a time fortunately [stallions were not allowed] .... He sired wonderful stock." In 1924 and at age 18, Rasim was sold by Crabbet to Baron Bicker of Poland who reportedly paid $65,000 (American money) for him. (Source: Parkinson, Mary Jane.
