Sire: Nasik (Rijm x
Narghileh by Mesaoud)
Dam: Riyala (Astraled x
Ridaa by Merzuk)

Arabian Stud Sussex, England
Sire
of 12 registered purebred Arabian foals (7 colts and 5 fillies) including his

who are all of
significance mid-pedigree in Arieana's Arabians.
|
 |
|
From
our Arieana Notebook: Rafeef is highly regarded and uniquely appreciated in the
pedigrees of Arieana Arabians for his carrying forth not only his sire *Nasik's
brilliant, elegant style and way of going, but for bringing us two lines each
in his own pedigree of the incomparables Mesaoud and *Rose
of Sharon, thusly intensifying for us the influence of these two greats
from out of the past on into our own modern-day CMK Arabian Horse
preservation breeding practices.
Lady Wentworth wrote these
glowing words about Rafeef:
"Good head, long neck, fine action, beautiful
galloping stride. Immense eyes and extra long mane and tail. Good
shoulder and legs. A flashing beauty of golden buttercup brilliance.
Brilliantly carried head and tail. Wanted by everyone." (A
Century of Crabbet Breeding. Crabbet Organisation. 2002. p 25.)
Rafeef
was also highly appreciated by W.K. Kellogg for his
contribution as a sire in the pedigrees of *Rissletta and *Rasafa,
and we
at Arieana Arabians still see Rafeef's remarkable
influence today in our own brilliant, rising star and future herd sire Goldfire
AA with his double Haat Shaat
pedigree.

*Rasafa
 AHR
#602
Color: Chestnut Sex: Mare
Foaled: January 1, 1926
Sire: Rafeef (Nasik x
Riyala by Astraled)
Dam: *Rasima (Daoud x
Rose of Hind by Rejeb)
Breeder: Crabbet
Arabian Stud Sussex, England
Dam
of 4 registered purebred Arabian foals (1 colt and 3 fillies) including Antafa (see
Nawari) who
is of
significance mid-pedigree in Arieana's Arabians.
|
|
|
|
|
From
our Arieana Notebook: *Rasafa was only a
suckling foal when she was imported on January 10, 1926 by W.K. Kellogg
along with her dam *Rasima. Although considered
small at maturity, *Rasafa was an enjoyable mare under saddle. Shown in the Kellogg Ranch's
Sunday Shows
under English tack by a young girl (photo above), *Rasafa gave a pleasing
performance with plenty of animation and a good trot. This same
agreeable disposition comes down to us today at Arieana Arabians
through her daughter Antafa by Antez (see
Nawari).
