From our Arieana Notebook: Of all Skowronek's foals, Naseem stood apart because of the extreme beauty of his head and neck. Lady Anne Lytton (Lady Wentworth's daughter) thought most well of Naseem and called him Skowronek's best son. Naseem, along with 19 mares and 5 other stallions, was sold to Russia in 1936 at age 14 for an undisclosed amount. In Russia, Naseem was graded "elite" and used as sire at Tersk for 17 years, many of those years as their senior sire. Naseem became noted for passing on his unique qualities to his foals: arched necks, fine throatlatches, exotic heads, high tail carriages and fancy trots. Especially esteemed by the Russians was his son Negatiw and his dynastic daughter Nomenklatura for their influence within the winning racing circles. Here in the United States and at Arieana Arabians, we hold Naseem in highest regard also as the sire of *Rissletta and grandsire of her son Abu Farwa. Naseem died in Russia in 1953 at the impressive age of 31.
