Meaning
of Name: "Water Pipe". The Narghileh is the smoking pipe
traditionally shared during Bedouin social
gatherings. It is often filled with fruit-flavored tobacco.

our Arieana Notebook: Narghileh, who like her dam Nefisa,
was a highly productive mare with far-reaching influence in our
breeding program at Arieana Arabians. Narghileh was the dam of 10 registered purebred Arabian foals (7 colts and 3 fillies) of which her two
sons *Nasik and Nureddin II and her
daughter *Narda II
are all of major significance mid-pedigree in our foundation bloodstock.
Narghileh was tall at 15.2 Hands and was described by Lady
Anne Blunt as "very fine" with thin skin and silky hair
which allowed the veining in her legs to show through. In 1918, at
age 23, Narghileh was destroyed (shot) by Wilfrid S. Blunt,
much to the dismay of his daughter Judith.
