From our Arieana Notebook: We highly regard Haat Shaat's influence in our breeding program for his:

		Speed and Stamina

Sire of 71 purebred registered foals, including Haapey Pico, a foundation mare for Arieana Arabians and one of our two daughters of Jolley Pico. Haat Shaat+ is also the paternal grandsire of Gleeful Pico, our younger Jolley Pico daughter and the second of our two foundation mares.

Haat Shaat+ also sired Pico Haat Shaat who is the sire of Blitzen of Pico. Thus Haat Shaat+'s influence is felt again on another branch in the Arieana pedigree family tree of our own rising star, racing prospect, and future herd sire Goldfire AA.

Pico Stardust+/ (Pico Haat Shaat x Pico Comet by Amara Baha) Legion of Supreme Honor Endurance, Legion of Honor Endurance. Among this awesome mare's many credits: 2003 Region 8 Endurance Arabian Top Five IAHA and AERC, 2002 US National Endurance 50 mile Arabian Endurance Top 10 (BEST CONDITION Award in both IAHA and AERC), 2002 AERC Point Standings - Northwest Division 6th place in the Heavyweight Category. (That's carrying over 211 lbs+ including tack) and in 2002 AERC Regional Best Condition - 4th place in the Northwest Division (age of mare: 14 years old!). 2001 US National Endurance 50 Mile Arabian Endurance Top 10. Owned and campaigned by Dian Woodward who is justifiably proud of her mare.

WFA Riski (Haat Shaat+ x Questar Pico by Sir Lancer) California's Arabian Racing Top Ten Five and Over Stallions. 1986.

From our Arieana Notebook: Sue Klausner has written to us about her memories of watching a video tape of WFA Riski running one of his winning races at Ferndale. This is just too precious not to share, and so we quote: "...Man! Was he impressive!! According to her [his owner and trainer Kris Nielsen], he'd run on the longer tracks and seemed to think he'd done the required number of turns, thought he was done. [So he stopped running!] Horse or jockey??? I don't know, but I'd think horse was more likely - jockey can see the finish line! Took some persuasion to convince the horse he wasn't done - but when he was convinced, run he did!! [To actually finish first in the race]." Exact date of this race: Unknown.  ~Suzi (10/04/03)
