From our Arieana Notebook: El Sabok was renown and admired for his feats of Endurance. Kat Walden, posting to the Arabian Preservation Mailing List on March 24, 2005, mentions that "El Sabok competed in the 1925 300-mile Endurance Test for the U.S. Mounted Service Cup. He was the first horse [and only stallion] to finish, ridden by Norman Harris, son of A.W. [Albert W. Harris], but was disqualified for having a welt on his back under the saddle which had been there from the first day." (See photo above.) Michael Bowling goes on to mention that Albert W. Harris arranged to have this horse stationed with him as a Remount Stallion for his program at Kemah, developing there a set of fine using and breeding animals including Stambul (x Makina).
