From our Arieana Notebook: The beautiful Dahura, a foundation mare for
the Ben Hur Program in the Midwest, is influential through several sources
mid-pedigree in the bloodstock of Arieana's Arabians. Dahura is the
dam
of Joon, one of the leading sires for the Hearst Program at San Simeon,
California and a stallion with his own story to tell for his influence in
our pedigrees through Zarouf to Kishtee Pri Moun. Dahura is also the
grand dam of Stambul, a stallion whose descendants create
yet another
branch of horses admired for their performance abilities. Altogether in
her lifetime, Dahura produced 17 foals (7 colts and 10 fillies) and
established a dynasty of her own with descendants renowned for their beauty,
kindly dispositions, and trainable temperaments. |

From our Arieana Notebook: Daoud, another source for us of
the incomparable Mesaoud influence, was one of Lady Anne Blunt's favorites;
she liked his action and rode him often. As an older horse (age 17) Daoud
was
sold to H.V.M. Clark's Courthouse Stud in England. (Source: Mulder, Carol
June Woodbridge. Imported Foundation Stock of North American Arabian
Horses, Volume I (Revised Edition. Borden Publishing Company, Los Angeles, California.
